Halogen vs hid cutof4/11/2024 ![]() Replaced them with Hella halogens, and the depth of light is much better. However, the pattern and projection was not good in spite of the output, down road visibility was not great. They were one of the cheaper versions, and put out a ton of light. I have some experience with LED headlights, the larger square replacements. Good lighting is all about the pattern projected IMO. I will not labour this any more, suffice it to say again, if you have fitted LED headlights into the headlight bucket, any problems, are you entirely happy with them, and will you keep them, or find something else, or revert back to halogen and relays.Įdited 1 time(s). For example, is there a way to vent our headlight buckets, and keep road spray from entering, perhaps a diff vent, or smilar Does that affect their use, as our cars have a fully enclosed headlight bucket. They are waterproof, so presumably, the rear end is best exposed to the elements, as they have a small cooling fan in the rear. Many bulbs are advertized as just shy of 400,000 lumens, but the equivalent wattage is smaller, so they say!. However, having looked on evilbay, LED's have come down in price presumably as the technology and use of same increases. My understanding is that with halogen and relays, it is better on the switches and wiring as these bulbs are a higher wattage than O/E, and create a large amount of heat, which is dealt with by shorter cable runs etc. Were you happy with the installation, or would you rather go back to halogen, and fit relays. I know that technology has moved on from the O/E sealed beam headlights, to halogen, and now LED's.ĭo you have experience of installing and using LED headlights. So take a great big breath and breath out slowly and come to the realization that Nissan fibbed once more!!! It's getting way beyond the funny stage. My car has all the relays and fuses for ABS, but no wheel sensors or control mechanism. So Nissan's either got a different idea of what projectors are or they're just flat full-o-s-! The window sticker on my 06 3.5SE 5 speed manual also said my car came with standard ABS. It says in the section for Premium package that HID Projectors were in that package. I am in the process of cleaning out my desk, and I came across the 07 Altima brochure they mailed me back just before the 07s were in the dealerships. May not be due to an outright lie, but at the very least a misprint. ![]() And I've also caught Nissan making untrue claims about options before in their stats, too. However I am correct about the 3rd gen Altimas. to order them so they can do a retro-install. If that's true about the availability of projectors, they better stock up, because a lot of the 07 owners are gonna be beating down the doors of the parts dept. Edit: Well I just read your link, and you may be right, but what Nissan calls projectors on the Altima may be BSing on their part. Infinitis and Maximas and Zs and Gs, yes, Altimas, no. I'll check that last one out, but the last word I heard was no Projectors for Altimas as yet. Unless Nissan has changed their policy, no Altima has projectors for Halogens or Xenons. They all came with reflectors, and the differences in the housings were the way the reflectors were aimed to prevent glare also to prevent the housings from melting from the extra heat generated by the xenons. Not so, otherwise every 3rd gen Altima that came with or was ordered with HID Xenons would be illegal.
